What In The World Is An Alchemist?
If you don’t know what an alchemist is, don’t worry you are not alone. Ancient alchemists practiced the art of turning metal into gold. I don’t know if they were ever successful with their endeavors but I liked the idea of transformation so when I decided to open my acupuncture and wellness practice in the San Francisco Bay area I named it, Modern Alchemy Acupuncture & Nutritional Counseling.
In these modern times, where the world seems to be changing ever so rapidly, one thing still remains the same. It’s not gold that is our most precious possession but instead, it is our personal health and well-being that is our greatest treasure. From our optimal health, all good things flow including our stamina to work, our ability to enjoy life with those we love, and our priceless emotional resiliency. These are just some of the many benefits that come from feeling good on every aspect of our wellbeing – physical, mental, emotional and even spiritually.
Yet many of us don’t have the optimal wellbeing we wish for and suffer because of it. A large number of people endure chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes or emotional imbalances like anxiety and depression or feel an even deeper blockage at the level of the spirit questioning their purpose in life. To those people, I say, you are not alone, especially if you have an animal companion who loves you and who you love in return.
Our Furry Alchemist Friends
If you’ve read my book, “Dog as My Doctor, Cat as My Nurse: an animal lover’s guide to a healthy, happy & extraordinary life, you know that our cats and dogs are much more than pets. These amazing creatures can have a profoundly pawsitive impact on our health and wellbeing. In fact, they are some of the most powerful and underutilized health and wellness allies than we could ever have. When we wake up and become aware of all they have to offer, we realize they can be not only our healers but our teachers, mentors, and masters of our transformation. Our animal friends are our modern day alchemists.
5 Ways Dogs & Cats Can Help Transform Your Health …..if you let them

2. Promote heart health

And so, so, so much more!
