I was about to write this month’s blog post when the unexpected happened – I got Covid. And so did Ken.
We were in Montana, not far from the Canadian border, when Ken came down with symptoms. At that point, my only consuming thought was to get home ASAP. We drove three long days until we reached Santa Fe. The next day I came down with a fever, chills, body aches, sore throat and headache. As quickly as possible I took the antivirals which 24 hours later took effect. Ken and I are now on the other side.
Life has a funny way of pulling the rug out from under you when you least expect it. But illness, just like all challenges, has a way of tapping us on the shoulder to remind us to be grateful for the small and the big things in life. Aside from this blip I’m healthy, I’m loved, and I am fortunate to have family and friends that I love in return. It’s funny how the small things really end up being the big things.
Alas, this month’s full blog post will have to wait until next month,
Stay Healthy & Stay Pawsitive,
Carlyn MDO 💜
