When a Healthy Dog Suddenly Gets Sick
This week has been a rollercoaster that I’d rather not ride again.
Grace, who usually has an iron clad stomach, began to vomit. When her digestive upset became more frequent, she stopped eating. Fortunately, our vet saw her immediately. Unfortunately, the medication she prescribed was ineffective and Grace’s symptoms got worse.
The next day, an ultrasound showed two spots in her small intestine that were distended for no obvious reason. The plan was to send us home with new medication and if that didn’t help, we would have to opt for a more invasive approach –like a scope or surgery. While necessary, these procedures were the last thing Ken or I wanted for Grace.
Imagine our relief when…
Stay Healthy and Stay Pawsitive,
